Camping in July

We went camping for a night during July 4th weekend. It was a hot day so the swimming pond was our favorite spot even though we were a little leary since the last swimming pond we were in during Memorial Day weekend made everyone sick.

It took 45 minutes to convince Cecelia to touch the water. Too big and scary. It doesn't look anything like the bathtub. She's particular. Once when I put a color tablet in the tub to turn the water blue, she absolutely would not go in the tub.

The other favorite activity for the girls was watching Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakual playing on the big screen in the park that night.

Cecelia refused to fall asleep and stayed up until 12:15am. She believes a body in motion stays in motion and she wouldn't lie down. She just kept walking around the tent stepping on her sisters. Next time we are bringing the pack and play.

It started raining pretty early the next morning and the forecast looked terrible so we tossed everything in the truck as quickly as possible and headed for home. Our packing needs a little refining but I think we are ready to tackle two nights.

Lydia's Father's Day Present

After a couple of weeks of practicing with the training wheels all the way up. Lydia was balancing pretty good although it looked exhausting the way she muscled the bike into balance with her arms and white knuckle grip. On Father's Day, Lydia asked Scott to take off her training wheels and they had some Dad-Daughter time practicing. She took off riding like a natural. Special thanks to our neighbors for the use of their lawn.

Summer

I love this picture of Claire! So much fun. We were at the park having some fun.

For some reason Cecelia decided that she didn't want Claire by her. She would calm down until Claire sat by her and then she'd have a fit. We had some fun with it at Cecelia's expense.

Got to start practicing for the Christmas card.
